Building Facilities and Services

The CIW staff pride themselves on making each semester as smooth and congenial for you as possible.

Administration and liaison services

Both academic and administrative staff are usually very close at hand for emergencies, problem solving, questions, information, or mere chitchat. With offices and homes in the same building, staff can respond quickly to your questions about your apartments, the building, the neighborhood, the city, your work, etc. Administrators are especially adept and experienced acting as liaison to the Cornell University bureaucracy up in Ithaca: obtaining materials and guidelines, reminding you of deadlines, or helping to deal with singular concerns.

Tutors, who live on the same floors with the students, are especially useful with academic, research, or externship issues, but they also act as resident supervisors, and they respond to emergencies.

You are encouraged to report problems to the main office in timely fashion and are expected to report any emergencies or issues of serious consequence as soon as reasonably possible.
