Elective courses vary from semester to semester. Every program participant is required to take either one or two of the elective courses offered by the program. Courses may only be taken for a grade; no S/U option and no auditing are permitted.

Students who wish to arrange to take an independent study at Cornell, or who wish to arrange to enroll in a course at another university, may do so. However, this must be done as a supplement to the core course plus one elective requirement of the program.

No credit may be earned for the internship experience, even if it is arranged independently.
